Approved Heart Rate Monitors
A common question we get is why a Fibit, Apple Watch or other wrist worn heart rate monitor is not supported. We wish! The issue is that those devices use optical technology that measure the expansion and contraction of capillaries in your wrist (or finger). This works well for heart rate however not only is it super sensitive to motion, it does not provide the exact time of the heart beat that is needed by SweetBeat and HRV in general, which require "single lead EKG" accuracy. While the Apple watch does have a way to do single lead EKG, it only runs for a few seconds and is not enough to get any meaningful HRV data. The devices listed here will support the clinical grade measurements SweetWater Health is known for.
